Our Vision

LaHave founded by a group of like-minded friends, with a shared passion for food, natural agriculture and forestry. We came together through a shared vision of discovering the tastiest and healthiest food to be grown naturally in Nova Scotia.

In 2010, the quest to find a new and exciting food was complete with the unearthing of the fabulous tasting Haskap berry from Japan and Russia. Since this discovery, we have grown considerably, and today we have planted over 40 acres of Haskap orchards, with more planned.

Our ’2013 haskapa juice vintage’, won this year’s best new entrant at the World Juice Awards in Cologne. Where it was, described by one judge as a near perfect balanced ‘Wine’, without the alcohol.

The farms and orchards are based in beautiful Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Our philosophy is built on the foundation of product quality, health, design and the environment. We are also passionate about making a positive impact on the future of agriculture in the province.

Thank you for your time and hope you will join us on our journey!

What do we do ?

In 2013, we have created two new exciting business divisions within LaHave Forests, Inc. group:

LaHave Natural Farms

Activities: LaHave Haskap Orchards and plants sales.

Our philosophy is to select the highest quality Haskap plants and berries for our own and individual orchards around the world that meet our exacting high standards of quality. We believe that nature never gives us the same Haskap berry twice so, consequently, never the same juice vintage twice.

This gives our haskapa range of products their unique taste and character.

Activities: LaHave’s brand committed to innovation and creating premium based Haskap food and juice.

To us, food or juice is best when it is shared with friends and family. The aroma of good home cooking and the flavor of fresh juice can create nostalgia and brings back memories of special times.

Our vision is to create healthy and Haskap food and juice to help make the world a tastier place. Our online marketplace helps connect curious eaters throughout North America and the globe with these haskapa gourmet goodies.

Our Ethics

We are not perfect, but we are trying to be open minded and leave the world a little bit better than when we began at the start of the day. We  farm with passion and in a natural and innovative way. We take responsibility for the impact of our activities on society and the environment.

A strong part of the LaHave story is to become a truly sustainable business. Where we have a net positive effect on the world, be it in our orchards, forests and or even our compost bins!
